There's turned out to be a lot of benefits to having laminate. I haven't fallen since it was put in. It's easy to clean up spills. Lucila can't use a vacuum on it, so the cats don't get scared and I can nap in the recliner while she cleans. I am thinking of getting a small handheld vacuum meant for pet hair, though, for the recliner. Then again, it may be mostly made of cat hair by now.
